At the Vision Improvement Program, your child will receive one-on-one attention from a Vision Therapist. Each Vision Therapist is highly trained to teach your child the crucial vision skills needed to be a successful reader and student. Our therapists are also trained to work with adults who need vision therapy.

Jamie Pyszora is the Administrator and Vision Therapist in Charge for the Vision Improvement Program. She began working as a Vision Therapist in 2000. She attended Wayne State University and Macomb Community College, where she studied Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Psychology, and graduated with honors. She has attended numerous conferences over the years with the Optometric Extension Program. Prior to becoming a Vision Therapist, Jamie was an assistant preschool teacher. She is married and has two daughters.

Susan Cavanaugh has been working as a Vision Therapist for V.I.P. since October 2001. She graduated from Harper Hospital School of Nursing where she received her R.N. degree. She went on to Oakland Community College and Oakland University studying Early Childhood Education. She taught preschool for eighteen years. Susan is married and has two grown children and two grandchildren.

Amy Lazar began working as a Vision Therapist in 1993. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Oakland University and has also completed several hours of study in Early Childhood Education through Oakland and Macomb Community College. She completed her study with the Vision Training Institute through the Optometric Extension Program and has also attended numerous conferences throughout the years with the O.E.P. and National Association for the Education of Young Children. Prior to becoming a Vision Therapist, Amy worked for several years as a Preschool Teacher and then a Day Care Director. She is married and has three children.

Sherry Szablowski has been employed by Dr. Lawless for over sixteen years. During that time she has held many positions in Dr. Lawless' Optical office including Front Desk Administrator, Technician and Optician. Sherry then brought her expertise in the optical field to her position within the Vision Improvement Program. She has been a Vision Therapist since 2006. Sherry is married and has three children.
